25 Piece Commercial Grade Heat Shrink Tubing Assortment Starter Kit
25 pieces of USA-made commercial-grade heat shrink tubing in a 6-hole labeled plastic drawer — 6-inch lengths pre-sorted by diameter so you can cut to the exact size needed for each application without waste. Commercial-grade wall thickness is the difference between tubing that seals correctly under heat and thin-wall imports that crack during shrinking — this kit uses tubing built to hold up in demanding automotive and electrical environments.
What's Included
- Commercial-grade heat shrink tubing — multiple diameters, 6" lengths
- Made in the USA — consistent wall thickness, reliable shrink ratio
- 6-hole labeled plastic drawer — one diameter per compartment, pre-sorted
- QR-coded layout included
- 25 pieces total
Specifications
| Material | Polyolefin (standard heat shrink) |
| Length per piece | 6 inches |
| Shrink ratio | 2:1 (standard) |
| Origin | Made in the USA |
| Grade | Commercial — thick-walled, crack-resistant |
| Total pieces | 25 |
| Storage included | Yes — 6-hole labeled plastic drawer |
Best For
- Automotive wiring repair shops — heat shrink tubing protects splices and terminal crimps from moisture, abrasion, and vibration; commercial-grade wall thickness holds up in under-hood and underbody environments
- Marine and RV electrical work — moisture-exposed wiring requires properly shrunk tubing that seals without cracking; thin-wall imports often split under heat, leaving the splice exposed
- Electrical contractors and panel shops — heat shrink on wire ends and splice points is a professional finishing standard; the 6" lengths provide enough coverage for most termination and splice applications
- Fleet maintenance operations — wire repair is routine maintenance on commercial vehicles; having multiple diameters organized in a drawer means technicians grab the right size without measuring against loose tubing
Heat Shrink Tubing Sizing Guide
Heat shrink tubing is sized by its recovered (shrunk) diameter and the supplied (pre-shrink) diameter. Standard 2:1 tubing shrinks to half its supplied diameter when heated. To select the right size:
- Measure the outside diameter of the wire, connector, or object being covered
- Choose tubing with a supplied diameter larger than the object OD — it needs to slide over before heat is applied
- Confirm the recovered diameter is smaller than the object OD — it needs to grip tightly after shrinking
Example: For a 14 AWG wire with a ~0.10" OD, 3/16" (0.187") supplied diameter tubing will slip on easily and recover to ~0.093" — snug against the wire.
Apply heat evenly with a heat gun, working from the center outward to avoid air pockets. Avoid open flames — they char the tubing surface and cause uneven shrink. Questions about sizing for a specific application? Contact us.
