48 Piece Heat Shrink Tubing Assortment Starter Kit
48 pieces of commercial-grade heat shrink tubing in a labeled drawer — a larger-format assortment covering a wider range of diameters for shops that need to protect splices, terminals, and wire bundles across a broad spectrum of wire gauges and cable sizes. More diameters and more pieces per size means fewer mid-job interruptions when the work requires stepping up or down in tubing diameter.
What's Included
- Commercial-grade heat shrink tubing — multiple diameters, pre-cut lengths
- Wider diameter range than the 25-piece kit — suitable for both fine wire gauges and larger cable bundles
- Labeled drawer — pre-sorted by diameter and ready to use
- QR-coded layout included
- 48 pieces total
Specifications
| Material | Polyolefin (standard heat shrink) |
| Shrink ratio | 2:1 (standard) |
| Grade | Commercial — thick-walled, crack-resistant |
| Total pieces | 48 |
| Storage included | Yes — labeled drawer, pre-sorted by diameter |
Best For
- Shops working with a wide range of wire gauges — from fine signal wiring to heavy battery cables, this kit covers more diameters in one bin than the standard 25-piece assortment
- Automotive and marine wiring specialists — heat shrink protects splices and terminal crimps from moisture and vibration; commercial-grade wall thickness holds up where thin-wall imports fail
- Electrical contractors and panel shops — a broader diameter selection means fewer trips to the supply house when a job requires tubing for multiple cable sizes
- Fleet maintenance operations — heavy-gauge wire repairs on commercial vehicles require larger diameter heat shrink that the smaller 25-piece kit may not include
Heat Shrink Tubing Sizing Guide
Heat shrink tubing is selected by its supplied (pre-shrink) diameter relative to the object being covered. Standard 2:1 tubing shrinks to half its original diameter when heat is applied.
- The supplied diameter must be larger than the object OD — tubing needs to slide over before heat is applied
- The recovered (shrunk) diameter must be smaller than the object OD — it needs to grip tightly after shrinking
- For wire splices: choose tubing that covers the full splice length with at least 1/4" overlap on each side of the joint
Apply heat evenly with a heat gun, working from the center outward to push out air pockets. Avoid open flame — it chars the tubing and causes uneven shrink. Questions about sizing? Contact us.
